Get Aquaman Ripped With Jason Momoa’s Workout And Diet Plan

No mere mortal can best Poseidon and intimidate Batman while rocking the most glorious beard in the DC Universe.

While the King of the Seven Seas made his debut in Justice League, his physique in the Aquaman solo movie would make Superman jealous.

Today, we interrupt our regular programming to break down the training regimen of Aquaman star Jason Momoa.

NOTE: We are the Jump Rope Dudes so, while we are going to give you Jason Momoa’s fitness routine, we’ll be incorporating jump rope into the regimen to help you stay lean while you’re training.

After doing some research, we learned that Jason just loves to move his body. He often adds cardio exercises and other outdoor activities to his routine when he’s not pumping iron.

We don’t know if he likes jumping rope or not, but we think he would. :)

Jason’s favorite form of movement is rock climbing, but he also does hill sprints, boxing, biking, surfing, swimming and skateboarding.

If none of these options are appealing, you can always grab a quick and effective 20-30 minute fat-burning jump rope workout from us 3 times a week to stay lean.

Aquaman Workout Routine

If you’re thinking to yourself, “Jason didn’t get that ripped just playing outdoors”, you’re right.

He also lifted weights via the Accelerated Results 7 Plan (AR7).

Here is what a week on this workout plan can look like…

Round 1: 7 sets, 7 reps with 7 seconds rest
Round 2: 6 sets, 6 reps with 6 seconds rest
Round 3: 5 sets, 5 reps with 5 seconds rest
(1-2 minute rest between rounds)

The exercises you are alternating between are..

  • Pull ups (weighted if you can)

  • Dips (weighted if you can)

  • Push ups (weighted if you can)

  • Weighted back squats

Muscle & Strength put together a more extensive sample of this type of training here.

Aquaman Diet

We don’t know his exact diet, but something Jason Momoa said over and over again was that he was all about the meat, veggies, and Guinness beer.

A lot of people think to get ripped you need to cut all alcohol and vices.

A better alternative is to drink in moderation and get most of your fuel from whole foods.

Protein like chicken, steak and fresh fish (Aku is Jason’s favorite)

Pre-workout carbs and fats like peanut butter and honey sandwiches

And then tons of vegetables to top it all off.

If you want to gain muscle you need to eat in a calorie surplus for YOUR BODY. To get help with finding out what that means for you, we recommend you check out this video which explains more about how eating for your goals work.

Consistency is King

Jason hasn’t always been super muscular.

The way he was able to gain all that muscle mass was by being consistent with the routine that we shared in the video above and of course by tapping into some pretty amazing genetics.

Whether you have the best or worst genetics - you can make up for a lot with hard work and consistency.
